Sub-Acute and Long Term Care Council Meeting-June 16!

Developing and Implementing Effective Group Programming In Subacute/Long Term Care Settings

With the elimination of concurrent therapy, group programming is one of the few ways to improve staffing efficiencies while providing  effective interventions which also facilitates  socialization among residents. Yet groups are often underused due to  logistical issues which can be easily overcome. This program (1) reviews the regulations relating to group use, (2) provides MDS definitions and requirements for capture, (3)  reviews the fiscal impact of group programming, (4)  presents key factors in implementing successful group programs  including staffing and scheduling issues, (5) discusses obstacles to success, (6) reviews documentation  requirements and (7) presents various group protocols.
