Description:
Electronic medical records and other technological advances are now being widely used in rehabilitation settings. This course will focus on the application of available technologies in healthcare settings to   enhance treatment intervention and improve efficiencies.
The speaker will cover a variety of documentation software options and devices such as iPhones, iPads, and webcams, as well as Skype and GPS.  Demonstration of their use as treatment and evaluation modalities will be provided.
This course will also provide hands on interaction with devices,software apps along with problem- solving activities and treatment ideas for commonly encountered conditions in the long term care/subacute population.

Learning Outcomes:
By the end of this course, participants will:
-Identify current technological devices that can be used in a variety of rehab settings.
-Use technological devices to assess clients limitations.
-Use technological devices to plan treatment interventions.
-Demonstrate the use of technology as an evaluation tool.
-Document appropriately when using technology as treatment tool.

Speaker Bio:
Todd Ostrow, MA, OTR, is the Inpatient Director of Rehabilitation at the Metropolitan Jewish Health System where he is responsible for the oversight, clinical and financial management of their subacute rehab facilities. He has taught in multiple OT curriculum's in the NY area and is an expert on long term care/subacute management.
