As the provisions of therapy intervention in long term care rely heavily on the use of occupational and physical therapy assistants, it is imperative that we understand their practice acts, and what is legal and allowable in our therapeutic settings.
This free presentation will cover the updated rules for occupational therapy assistants, COTA students and holders of limited permits (released February 2012), as well as a review of current rules for physical therapy assistants.
The seminar will be held on Wednesday, June 13th, from 9:30AM to 12:00PM.

The mission of the Subacute/Long Term Care Council is to provide peer support and information on issues of importance to the long term care rehab manager.
At the conclusion of the council meeting participants will be able to better define supervisory roles in relation to occupational therapy assistants and OTA students, the scope of practice for the physical therapy assistant, and measuring the reimbursement impact of the change in therapy OMRA.
