Today, Therapeutic Resources held it’s quarterly Subacute and Long Term Care Council Meeting at Kings Harbor Care Center in the Bronx. This event was free to all Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, Speech Language Pathologists, Department Chiefs, MDS Coordinators, and Nurses working in long term care.
As coordination of Medicare Part A becomes more and more complicated, the working relationship between rehab management and the Resident Assessor becomes crucial to ensure reimbursement. The process will become even more challenging after October 1, 2011 when the new OMRA requirements take place. This presentation reviewed how the two disciplines can work together to ensure coordination and compliance with reimbursement and documentation requirements. Following the presentation, there was a panel discussion to brainstorm and share information about what methodologies are working best in various facilities.
