Occupational Therapy Featured on CNN!
In its ongoing series on "Best Jobs," CNNMoney recently profiled occupational therapy. The hook? The profession's 2% unemployment rate.
In the video profile (http://money.cnn.com/video/news/2013/01/03/n-occupational-therapy-low-unemployment.cnnmoney), the report interviewed OTs from Rusk Rehabilitation, showing therapists working with patients on everything from pegboards to ADLs in the kitchen to high-tech stroke rehab equipment. Therapists also discussed the profession's purpose and the many job settings where OTs work.
The report also talked about OT's consistently low unemployment rate; according to data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, OT's unemployment rate hasn't exceeded 2% since 2000, and has run 3-7% lower than the overall U.S. unemployment rate.
