As part of our ongoing efforts to provide ongoing professional development opportunities for our early intervention providers, TR presented a free evening inservice entitled "The Use of Toys to Enhance Learning Objectives in Young Children".
Presented by Julianne Costa, OTR/L, DPT, Clinical EI Supervisor at Therapeutic Resources, the course focused on the selection of toys and items typically found in the home environment to foster mastery in visual, auditory, sensory processing and motor skills. Using case studies, video footage and a lecture format, Julieann demonstrated how to select and grade toys and activities to assure proper challenge based on age and abilities. The program was video taped for inclusion in our "Education Station" an online education program which will become available to our providers this spring.
