November 13 and November 14, 2010 marked the annual New York Occupational Therapy State Association conference!
Marilyn and Lisa, both Occupational Therapists, volunteered to be part of the planning committee. Their task was to secure vendors for the two-day event. They solicited over 150 companies at job fairs, national conventions, emails and cold calling and successfully filled the seventeen slots that were available.
The conference included educational programs, a business luncheon, a student mixer and keynote address by Dr. Jim Hinojasa. As Occupational Therapists, Lisa and Marilyn strongly support their local, state and national occupational therapy organizations. These organizations provide the political action which protect our professions and ensure that they are included in health care and reimbursement initiatives on a local, state and federal level. Whatever your discipline, please support your local and national professional organizations. Your career could depend on it.
