Integrating Behavioral Strategies in the Classroom Setting

We are pleased to announce a new seminar for employees and affiliates of Therapeutic Resources: Integrating Behavioral Strategies in the Classroom Setting, presented by Julianne Costa, OTR/L, DPT.

This course is FREE for all Therapeutic Resources employees and affiliates currently holding cases with us!

Clinicians who choose to work with school age children come armed with clinical knowledge, a passion for children, and a flexible nature as they provide treatment in the school setting. But clinicians are often at a loss when faced with a child who presents with tantrums, boredom, and/or disruptive behavior.

This course is meant to address the issues, and provide strategies to be utilized during treatment sessions to reduce these behaviors and allow for positive learning, therapy and socialization experiences. Strategies that will be covered include:

  • Using child centered approaches
  • Adapting treatment and learning environments
  • Adapting verbal responses towards the child
  • Presenting desired social behaviors through the use of “social stories”
  • Using sensory integration techniques
