Pocket SLP
PocketSLP is a technological breakthrough for speech therapy--a real game changer for working with articulation delays. It effectively renders card decks and traditional flash cards obsolete.

Developed by practicing speech and language pathologists (SLPs), Pocket SLP creates an engaging atmosphere by offering a unique multi-sensory approach to articulation drill. Presented with over 2,100 high-quality, carefully researched flashcards targeting both the word and sentence levels clients and children are met with immediate auditory feedback, and are tacitly involved as they push buttons and/or swipe their way through the images. Pocket SLP offers 29 phoneme selections, seven of which are devoted to /r/ and it’s vocalic variations.

After selecting one or more phonemes, clients are cued to label and produce target images pictured on the screen. Real time scoring occurs as the Correct, Incorrect, or Approximate buttons are selected. Then to get highly specific scoring data a “Summary” screen is offered which reveals percentages specific to phoneme and word position. Therapists and parents will also enjoy a feature that allows them to add names in the iPhone or Touch Contacts. Names and previous results are stored and can be viewed by date and time from within the application. Finally, the results of a session may be emailed from within the summary screen.
At any time during viewing the images a button can be pushed to reveal two detailed diagrams (palate and side views) indicating the specific tongue positioning for the phoneme being targeted. Additionally, while viewing the diagrams an audio recording of the phoneme can be played as the client views how to appropriately produce the sound.

Pocket SLP offers the following options:
1) “Auditory Feedback” can be turned on and off or “silly” sounds can be selected.
2) “Auto-advance” can be turned off as to allow more time for ever important language modeling.
3) A “Practice Mode” is offered with no scoring buttons.
4) Word or Sentence “Level” - Pocket SLP will provide a single word or a sentence containing the target phoneme.
5) Randomize cards after the completion of a deck.
6) Customize email format for percentage or decimal representation
